Corrosion Protection
The primary reason for treating closed systems is to stop corrosion. The primary cause of corrosion is dissolved oxygen. Oxygen reacts with the metals in the system to form pitting corrosion. Corrosion deposits can break off from the piping. These abrasive deposits can wear away seals, score pump shafts, and clog strainers and vents.
